PRIME Time: A Look at One of Midtown Manhattan’s Oldest Burger Diners
This Must Be The Place is series of short films produced and directed by Ben Wu and David Usui (Lost & Found Films) that explore the idea of home and places that function as home- workplaces, hangouts, etc… For the workers at Prime Burger Restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, the business is like a second home. Opened in 1938, the restaurant hasn’t been altered since the early ’60s, and it looks all the better for it. Most of these seasoned vets have been slinging burgers, making shakes, and waiting on customers at this old-school diner for decades. Here the waiters and workers of Prime Burger discuss their views on their chosen profession, and the unique nature of the place itself.
